About Amy English

A better way to meet midlife

This chapter is often less about starting over and more about coming back to yourself. The roles that once defined you begin to shift. The ways you’ve always coped don’t work the same way. You know something feels different, but you’re not entirely sure how to describe it.

We create space to understand what’s happening, reconnect with what matters most, and hear your own voice more clearly. For many women, this includes looking at the stories they’ve carried about food, their bodies, success, and what it means to be “enough.” Our work helps you separate those old stories so you can decide what’s worth keeping.

Amy English

I found life coaching during a time when I was questioning who I was, what mattered, and what came next. Through that experience, I learned how to listen to my own voice again, let go of roles and expectations that no longer fit, and move through change with more ease and less pressure. Now I help my clients do the same.

In our sessions, you’ll have a calm, supportive space to understand what’s unfolding in your life, what matters now, and what you want for this next chapter. Together, we explore what’s shifting, what’s true, and what’s ready to come forward.

My Background and Approach

Why This Work Matters Now

The Journey That Led Me Here

I didn’t become a coach because I had it all figured out. I became a coach because I walked through my own season of uncertainty, change, and rebuilding. Breast cancer was the catalyst that changed everything. It made me question the career I built, the expectations I was living by, and the ways I coped with stress and overwhelm. Coaching showed me the power of understanding my thoughts, challenging the stories that no longer served me, and building a more trusting relationship with myself. I knew I wanted to help other women experience that same shift.

My Training and Experience

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and spent fifteen years in the wireless telecommunications industry before becoming a life coach. My coach training gave me the tools to understand how change works from the inside out, but my lived experience taught me why this work matters. Together, they shape how I coach women through seasons of transition, self‑doubt, perfectionism, and the complicated stories we carry about food, our bodies, and our worth.

What Midlife Brings to the Surface

Midlife has a way of asking questions we may have avoided for years. The roles that once felt certain can start to shift. The things we used to tolerate may no longer feel sustainable. This season is often less about figuring out who you’re supposed to become and more about understanding who you are now, what matters most, and what you want to carry forward.

Why It Can Feel So Unsettling

If you've always been the one who figures things out, it can be hard to imagine needing support. But the tools you've relied on for years may no longer be working. What once helped you get through life may now be what's wearing you out. Perfectionism, overthinking, people-pleasing, and always being the one who holds everything together can leave you exhausted. When life changes on the outside, the inside often needs time to catch up. Having space to slow down, sort through what you're feeling, and reconnect with what matters can help you find your footing again.

What Begins to Shift Here

This work isn't about becoming someone new. It's about seeing yourself more clearly. As you begin to recognize the beliefs, expectations, and habits that have shaped your choices, you can decide what still fits and what no longer does. For some women, this includes exploring their relationship with food, their bodies, or the ways they've learned to cope with stress and overwhelm. With greater awareness, you can make choices that feel more aligned with who you are today.

Working Together

Our sessions are thoughtful, honest, and surprisingly light. Clients tell me it feels like talking with someone who genuinely understands them—someone who listens without judgment and helps untangle what's been swirling around in their minds. We do meaningful work together, but we also laugh. Sometimes that's exactly what helps things feel a little less heavy. My hope is that when you leave our sessions, you feel clearer, lighter, and more connected to yourself than when you arrived.
