Why I'm Here

Healing your relationship with food and your body in a way that finally feels possible.

Welcome

I’m Amy English. I’m a life coach who helps women in midlife make sense of what’s happening with food, body, and the emotional shifts that come with this season of life.

If you’re dealing with stress eating, cravings, old patterns resurfacing, or the ups and downs of perimenopause or menopause, you’re not alone. And if you’re using a GLP‑1 medication, you might be navigating a whole different layer of questions and emotions. My work is about steady, judgment‑free support as you sort through it all.

How I Got Here

I didn’t set out to become a coach who focuses on food and body.
It happened because life pushed me into my own healing.

Back in 2015, after breast cancer and a big career shift, I hired my first life coach. I was looking for clarity and something that felt more like me. Coaching opened a door I didn’t even know was there. I started to see how much of my life had been shaped by shame, especially around food and my body, and why nothing I tried ever seemed to “stick.”

My Story

I started dieting at 11.
I was bullied for my body for years — Miss Piggy, Orca, all of it. I learned early that thinness was the price of approval. Food became the thing I turned to, hid from, fought with, and tried to control.

In 2013, I lost 100 pounds. Two weeks later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I gained 30 pounds back almost immediately from stress eating. That moment showed me how fragile everything feels when it’s built on control instead of compassion.

Coaching helped me rewrite the story. I trained with Martha Beck and Susan Hyatt, healed my relationship with food, and learned to treat my body with respect instead of punishment. Feeling good became the goal — not chasing a number.

What I Do Now

I work with women in midlife who want to feel more at ease with food and more at home in their bodies. This season of life brings a lot — hormones, emotions, medication decisions, old patterns resurfacing — and it can feel overwhelming.

My role isn’t to tell you what to do.
It’s to help you understand what’s going on, why it makes sense, and how to move through it with more clarity and less pressure.

How We Work Together

Our conversations are simple and real. We talk about what’s happening, what’s getting in the way, and what your body might be trying to tell you. We use things like:

  • reflection and journaling to notice patterns

  • eating awareness practices that quiet the noise

  • ways to rebuild trust with your body

  • honest conversations that help you drop the shame

  • small, doable shifts that fit your actual life

Nothing rigid. Nothing performative. Just support that meets you where you are.

What It's Like to Work With Me

Clients often tell me it feels like talking to someone who really gets it, someone who listens, doesn’t judge, and helps them see things more clearly. We talk about things they’ve carried for decades, and we do it in a way that feels safe and steady.

If you want to read their experiences, you can find them here.

Let’s Talk

If something in you is whispering, “I think this might help,” I’d love to talk.
I offer a 60‑minute Connection Call where you can share what’s going on and get a feel for what working together is like. No pressure. Just a conversation to see if it feels right.

You deserve peace with food.
You deserve to trust yourself again.
And you deserve to feel at home in your body, simply because it’s yours.

Client Testimonials

Fat2Fierce is not a quick fix (for me those never worked), it’s a life change and Amy does such a great job of motivating me to want to use the tools & strategies to continue to feel better & eat better.  The mental weight was likely heavier for me than my physical gain so helping me lose that (and understand where that comes from) has been huge. I’m surprised at how much more accepting I am of myself & my body & my mental state than when I began the program. -Abby H.

Every session was like being on the phone with a trusted friend... just the right balance of understanding and gentle shove. I wasn't sure what to expect really, having never worked one on one with a coach before.  I knew that the old diet culture was not the answer, that the real answer was somewhere inside my own head,  but the work we did together blew me away with every exercise. If you can commit to doing the work, this will work for you and set you up for success once and for all.  Do it! -Dayle C.

The non-diet culture approach to body kindness and weight loss is refreshing! My relationship with food and my body has changed...all due to a change in thinking. I was surprised at how interconnected everything is. Making the homework a priority was challenging, but breaking it into small chunks helps. I would describe Amy’s coaching as comfortable, safe, and judgement free. I’m proud of deciding to work with her and make this a priority. -M.M.
